Time is Valuable...

Not only is time valuable but it is something that you cannot get back.

Think of it, the last 5 minutes that have just passed, you will never see again! It sounds kind of crazy to think of it that way. How well I remember when that truth hit me like a ton of bricks. I am not really sure what I was doing at the time, but somehow, I was struck with the fact that each passing year, each passing day, each passing moment that goes by will never be mine again. I actually found it quite sobering, to say the least.

You occupy your time with so many things, so many people.

I presume that most of your inner circle, those you rub shoulders with, work with, communicate on social media with are nice or at least fairly nice folk. Yet, there are times when you may be shocked to find that that the same one you thought had your best interest in mind, that one who you presumed was your friend, has said some pretty nasty things to you or about you. Of course, you are hurt. As the Scripture admonishes, you try to contact that individual and see why...but you'r trying is in vain. When you have done all you can do...what then?

Don’t waste your time and energy on those that speak harsh words against you. Just make sure your life is honourable in God’s sight and you are living the Word! I have been reading 1 Samuel and this really stood out to me. At the direction of the Lord, the prophet Samuel had just finished anointing Saul as king. We pick it up in chapter 10…

26 When Saul returned to his home at Gibeah, a group of men whose hearts God had touched went with him. 27 But there were some scoundrels who complained, “How can this man save us?” And they scorned him and refused to bring him gifts. But Saul ignored them.

Time to Move On...

Saul knew who he was. He was not going to let the meanness and harshness of those men stop him from doing what he needed to do. Often folk have spoken to my husband and I concerning hurts, unfair treatment. It seemed nothing could be rectified. At this time, the best thing to do is move on. Don't waste your time. Each moment of life is very valuable. Know who you are in Christ and connect with those that will love you, appreciate you and pray for you. Just move on!
