God with Skin On!

There are so many wonderful things about this time of year...the Christmas Season. Maybe it is the beautiful carols, as we drive or walk through the mall. Maybe the excitement in decorating and creating such a lovely ambiance in our home. Maybe the warm smell of gingerbread as we bake those delicious delicacies! The list could go on and on!

One of the most exciting things for me, during this season, is this amazing thought...God with Skin On!” If it was not for the fact of Jesus coming as a babe, fully God and yet fully human, we would not have a clear picture in our human minds of what God is really like.

As Jesus grew and moved among humanity, we see His interactions with folk and His deep love for every man, woman & child. He healed the sick, raised the dead, delivered those in bondage and wept with those that were broken hearted. He reached out to those who were down trodden, those with whom the culture of the day would have nothing to do with...they were despised. He elevated women, breaking the culture of the day when it did not line up with heaven's culture.

Except for the Babe of Bethlehem, we would never know these things, could never even imagine how simply amazing Jesus is...always representing His Heavenly Father.

You see, even though there is much excitement around Christmas, remember it is really all about Jesus.

I am so thankful for this most wonderful time of the year! "God with Skin On!"
