Wait for the New Season

Sometimes the change of a new season seems to take forever. This year it has seemed that way. Even though we know by the calendar that it is officially Spring, there are days it seems like winter is still on the calendar. I felt that way when walking the dog early this morning It was damp and quite chilly. For some reason it seemed that the winter season is still ruling and Spring is struggling to arrive.

I think that is the same way with life situations. Ecclesiastes 3:1 tells us, “There is a time for everything and a season for every activity under the heavens.” Then we read in Ecclesiastes 3:11 that “Yet God has made everything beautiful for its own time.” We can guarantee that seasons of life come and go. Some seasons we enjoy while others we endure and wish would pass quicky or just disappear so we can move on. One thing is for certain, the seasons will come and the seasons will change, it is inevitable.

What season do you find yourself in today? Is it one of challenge, disappointment, grief, or uncertainty? Let me encourage you not to despair. Theses seasons do not last forever. Just as the snow will eventually disappear, the green blades of grass will appear as the tulips and daffodils push their way through the ground. These are the times that trust in God’s plan is not easy but needful. The season you find yourself in may feel very bleak. Be assured that God has not left you, a new season is on the horizon!
